The National Parks and Wildlife Service is appealing for information about the theft of property from a hut in Kosciuszko national Park.
A hand built table and benches were taken from Sawyers Hut - also known as the Rest House - which is located on the Snowy Mountains Highway between Adaminaby and Yarrangobilly Caves.
NPWS Ranger Elouise Peach says it would have taken at least two people to unbolt and remove the timber furniture.
"We are extremely disappointed in the unscrupulous characters who have removed the table and benches from Sawyers Hut, and I hope people will come forward with information," she said.
Ms Peach says the stolen pieces were handcrafted locally.
"Sawyers Hut was rebuilt in 2008 after being damaged in the 2003 fires, and the missing furniture was locally made and installed for all visitors to enjoy," she said.
Anyone with information about the theft is being urged to contact NPWS on 6947 7000 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, and calls will be treated with strict confidentiality.
