A call for submissions is now open for residents in the Snowy River Shire to have their say and appeal for better public transport options in and around the region.

There's currently an effort to formulate a large, focused community submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry into CountryLink services.

Currently, CountryLink operates up to 14 services a week between Cooma and Canberra, but bypasses the Snowy River Shire entirely.

One of the organisers of the community submission is Joan Bird from Last Run in Jindabyne.

She's encouraging everyone in the Shire to get in touch before the 5th of May and join the call to establish a consistent bus service.
