Yesterday morning Jindabyne Police spoke with a number of people at Charlotte Pass who were taking advantage of the fine weather to walk to Mt Kosciuszko.

Police say even during fine weather, circumstances can change which might result in someone being rescued.

Police are encouraging the use of a Personal Locator Beacon.

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service offer PLBs on a free loan in Kosciuszko National Park when you register your walk.

NSW SES Deputy Commissioner Greg Newton say the most common accident they respond to is people who become stranded in the back country.
